George Pickens
George Pickens Reports for start of minicamp
Mon, Jun 15, 2026, 12:45 PM
Pickens was present for his physical Monday prior to the Cowboys' mandatory minicamp, Todd Archer of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: There had been some speculation whether Pickens would show up for minicamp based on the Cowboys' unwillingness to negotiate a long-term deal with the star wideout. However, he signed his franchise tag back in April and would have been subject to fines if he didn't report for mandatory practices this week after he's skipped out on voluntary workouts this offseason. Pickens is headed into his age-25 season and coming off a career year in 2025 after he caught 93 passes for 1,429 yards and nine touchdowns across 17 regular-season contests. The team likely wants to see Pickens do it again before committing to him long term. If he's able to have another big season, Pickens will be looking at $30 million-plus per year on a multi-year pact next offseason.
Practicing at middle linebacker
Thu, Jun 11, 2026, 6:27 PM
Overshown has been practicing at middle and weakside linebacker during minicamp, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: The linebacker is also healthy and wearing no knee brace, per Machota. That's significant, seeing as he missed 12 games with a knee injury in 2025. Overshown made an impact in 2024, with 90 tackles (56 solo), including 5.0 sacks, four pass breakups, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery across 13 regular-season games.
Undergoes neck surgery
Tue, Jun 9, 2026, 8:31 PM
Hennessy underwent neck surgery, Calvin Watkins of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Analysis: Hennessy is expected to start training camp on the physically unable to perform list, and there's currently no timetable for his return. The 28-year-old had signed with the Cowboys back in March and is in line to serve as the team's backup center once healthy.
Jonathan Mingo
Jonathan Mingo Dealing with groin strain
Tue, Jun 9, 2026, 6:30 PM
Coach Brian Schottenheimer said Tuesday that Mingo is tending to a minor groin strain, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: There was no indication as to when Mingo suffered the injury, but it doesn't sound like it's a serious issue. Any time that Mingo potentially misses could turn into a small opportunity for Tyler Johnson to make a bigger impression outside.
Tending to pec issue
Tue, Jun 9, 2026, 6:25 PM
Coach Brian Schottenheimer said Tuesday that Thompson is nursing a minor pectoral injury, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: It's unknown when or how Thompson got hurt, but his coach's comments suggest there's no great cause for alarm. If he's limited during the Cowboys' minicamp, free agent acquisition P.J. Locke could see some work with the first-team defense.
Competing for starting LT job
Fri, Jun 5, 2026, 12:11 PM
Coach Brian Schottenheimer said Thursday that Thomas and Tyler Guyton are competing for the starting job at left tackle this offseason, Nick Harris of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
Analysis: Thomas was a seventh-round pick out of Louisiana in 2024. After missing his entire rookie season with a knee injury, Thomas appeared in all 17 regular-season games last season and made four starts while seeing most of his action at left tackle. Guyton missed the final six weeks of the 2025 season with a knee injury, allowing Thomas an extended run at the position.
Practicing without leg brace
Thu, Jun 4, 2026, 9:02 PM
Revel (concussion) is participating during the Cowboys' OTAs, Nick Harris of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
Analysis: Per Tommy Yarrish of the Cowboys' official site, Revel's biggest priority during the offseason was getting back to full health and shedding the leg brace that he wore for much of the 2025 season, which he has now accomplished with offseason workouts underway. Now, he'll compete for a starting role on the boundary opposite DaRon Bland.
Competing for starting job
Thu, Jun 4, 2026, 8:22 PM
Coach Brian Schottenheimer said Thursday that Guyton (ankle) is competing with 2024 seventh-rounder Nathan Thomas for the job of starting left tackle, Todd Archer of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: It's not clear what level of danger there is that he could actually cede his starting role to Thomas, but it's good news for Guyton that he no longer seems to be hindered by the ankle injury that landed him on IR at the end of last season. Unless Thomas totally dazzles Dallas' coaches in the coming months, Guyton should be expected to be the one protecting Dak Prescott's blindside in 2026.
Progressing in recovery
Thu, Jun 4, 2026, 7:25 PM
Ezeiruaku (hip) participated in some drills during the Cowboys' OTAs, Todd Archer of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Per Archer, Ezeiruaku was not taking part in a team session, so there's evidently still some work to do before he's back to full strength. As long as he's healthy, he projects to play a major role on the edge in 2026 along with offseason trade acquisition Rashan Gary and rookie first-rounder Malachi Lawrence.
Expecting return for training camp
Thu, Jun 4, 2026, 7:15 PM
Bland (foot) is expected to be ready to practice during the Cowboys' training camp in July, Todd Archer of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Bland, who underwent surgery on an injured left foot back in January, was moving very well laterally as Dallas held OTAs, per Archer. Once he's at full strength again, he figures to play a big role on the boundary for the Cowboys in 2026.
George Pickens
George Pickens Expected back for minicamp
Thu, Jun 4, 2026, 1:00 PM
Pickens hasn't been present for voluntary OTAs, but he remains in communication with the Cowboys and is expected to show up for mandatory minicamp June 16-18, Nick Harris of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
Analysis: Pickens signed his franchise tag for $27.3 million in late April after the Cowboys made it public knowledge that they wouldn't sign him to a long-term deal (and also didn't want to trade him). Cowboys GM Jerry Jones, EVP Stephen Jones and HC Brian Schottenheimer have all hinted that they expect Pickens to play out 2026 under the tag without issue, while Pickens himself hasn't said much, letting his actions (signing the tag) do most of the talking. His absence from voluntary practices may just be a matter of reducing injury risk ahead of another contract year.
Jaden Smith
Jaden Smith Heading to Dallas
Wed, Jun 3, 2026, 6:55 PM
The Cowboys signed Smith on Wednesday, Nick Harris of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
Analysis: Smith was waived by Tampa Bay back in April, but he's now getting a new opportunity with Dallas. He'll have his work cut out for him trying to stand out in the Cowboys' crowded wide receiver room as the new season approaches.
Malik Davis
Malik Davis Appears to be in lead for RB2 job
Wed, Jun 3, 2026, 11:56 AM
At this stage, Davis appears to be the frontrunner for the Cowboys' No. 2 running back job, Tommy Yarrish of the team's official site reports.
Analysis: Calf and eye issues resulted in Davis being placed on IR ahead of Week 18 action last season. However, the ensuing offseason afforded the 27-year-old time to recover, and the Florida product will now look to secure backfield slotting behind top option Javonte Williams, who recorded a career-high 252 carries during the 2025 regular season. While working behind Williams in that span, Davis recorded 52 carries for 250 yards and two touchdowns, as well as two catches (on five targets) for 16 yards in 10 contests. Should Davis maintain his standing as Williams' top backup, he'd carry fantasy value as an insurance policy, but Yarrish points out that Jaydon Blue and Phil Mafah could compete for the job ahead of the 2026 campaign, making this a situation to monitor in the coming months.
Romello Brinson
Romello Brinson Signs with Dallas
Mon, Jun 1, 2026, 6:28 PM
Brinson signed with the Cowboys on Monday, Tommy Yarrish of the team's official site reports.
Analysis: The SMU product will try to fight for a spot on a wide receiver depth chart headed by CeeDee Lamb, George Pickens and several other players with NFL experience. Brinson caught 43 passes for 638 yards and three scores in 2025 for the Mustangs.
Jaydon Blue
Jaydon Blue In mix for backfield role
Fri, May 29, 2026, 9:47 AM
Blue is competing with Malik Davis and Phil Mafah for No. 2 running back reps behind starter Javonte Williams at OTAs, Todd Archer of ESPN reports.
Analysis: Blue, a 2025 fifth-round pick, was a healthy scratch for 12 games as a rookie and only tallied 38 carries for 129 yards and one score across the five regular-season appearances he did log. Among those games was Dallas' regular-season finale against the Giants in Week 18, however, in which Blue stepped into the No. 1 role with both Williams and Davis sidelined, totaling 16 carries for 64 yards and his sole career score. Blue is undersized at 5-foot-9, 196 pounds, but he boasts 4.38-second 40 speed and could carve out a change-of-pace role behind Williams with a strong offseason.
Parris Campbell
Parris Campbell Hangs up cleats
Wed, May 27, 2026, 3:33 PM
The Cowboys placed Campbell on the reserve/retired list Wednesday.
Analysis: Campbell, who signed a reserve/future contract with Dallas in early January, has now decided to call it a career. The 2019 second-round pick from Ohio State spent time with the Colts, Giants, Eagles and Cowboys throughout his seven-year NFL career, tallying 1,117 receiving yards and six touchdowns across 50 regular-season games.
Appears to be healthy
Mon, May 18, 2026, 4:51 PM
Overshown (concussion) is taking part in the Cowboys' offseason program, Joseph Hoyt of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Analysis: Overshown missed 12 games in 2025 after dealing with a lingering knee injury to begin the season and then sat out the Cowboys' final two contests with a concussion. The 25-year-old is expected to participate in his healthiest offseason since his rookie year and looks to build on his 28 tackles (15 solo) through six games in 2025.
Dominic Richardson
Dominic Richardson Headed to Dallas
Fri, May 1, 2026, 2:56 PM
The Cowboys signed Richardson as an undrafted free agent Friday.
Analysis: Richardson spent five years in the Big 12 for Oklahoma State and Baylor before transferring to Tulsa in 2025. The running back's best Big 12 season was in 2022, where he capped out at 543 yards and eight touchdowns on 149 rushes. In 2025, Richardson dominated the American conference with 1,065 yards and five touchdowns on 212 carries over 12 games. Richardson could provide some depth value to the Cowboys' running back corps if his athleticism translates to the NFL level.
Jordan Hudson
Jordan Hudson Dallas adds as wideout depth
Fri, May 1, 2026, 2:51 PM
The Cowboys signed Hudson as an undrafted free agent Friday.
Analysis: Hudson only started 13 games in his college career, with nine of them coming in his final season at SMU after serving as a depth option for the two seasons prior. The wide receiver ended 2025 with 61 receptions for 766 yards and six touchdowns. Hudson plays quick and agile and showed improvement every college season. If he can continue to refine his technique, he could develop into valuable wide-receiver depth for Dallas.
Signs with Dallas
Fri, May 1, 2026, 2:45 PM
The Cowboys signed Brown as an undrafted free agent Friday.
Analysis: Brown played at Auburn for three years before transferring to Georgia Southern ahead of his senior season. The wide receiver started 13 games in 2025, producing 65 receptions for 1,079 receiving yards and a whopping 14 touchdowns. Brown's scant production with the Tigers, for whom he recorded just 26 receptions for 280 receiving yards and three touchdowns, may have played a role in him going undrafted. If the 6-foot-2, 198-pound wideout can prove his athleticism translates to the NFL level, he could provide strong depth value to the Cowboys' offense and special teams.
